Maya Beach Club Cala Vadella is a beautiful, sandy beach in the southern part of Ibiza. The two-year-old Maya Beach Club is situated among the rocks and offers a valet parking service. You can enjoy sitting on the cool, modern terrace with views across the bay, but our conclusion is: the price/quality ratio is out of balance - and the service levels need some attention too! The menu is varied, with nice fish and meat dishes, salads and sushi. Prices are average: starters range from €12 to €25 and mains from €22 to €28, with the only exception the sea bass at €32. As starter, we ordered the “sushi combo platter”, a selection by the chef including maki, niguiri and sashimi. A shame that our question to the waiter about the name of one of the sushi rolls, which we asked when we were being served the main course (Creamy Pappardelle and the Hamburguesa de Wayu) was dismissed with: “I did not serve you that course, so I wouldn’t know. The chef makes a different selection every day”. We did hope that he might come back with the answer from the chef, but he did not take the trouble. On a brighter note: the plan is to open a “Maya Harbour Club” after the summer of 2017 in Marina Botafoch, especially for the locals and other winter-time residents.
